AMT Principal · Manufacturing, Operations & Strategy
Operations that take modular manufacturing from concept, to capacity, to profitability.
Lewis Lockwood is a modular construction executive and entrepreneur with more than 30 years of experience spanning general contracting, volumetric modular manufacturing, and industry consulting. He is Founder and President of Lockwood Modular Solutions, LLC in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and former Contract CEO of George Modular Solutions in Minneapolis. His work centers on helping manufacturers and modular startups build operational excellence from the ground up, refining their products, processes, and profitability.
Lewis began his career in 1999 when he founded Lockwood Building Company, a commercial and residential construction firm recognized for craftsmanship, sustainable practices, and consistent growth. That grounding in traditional construction became the foundation for his move into volumetric modular manufacturing, where for more than a decade he has influenced how plants across North America are conceived, built, and scaled.
Across executive roles with Champion Commercial Structures, Z Modular, and Rise Modular, Lewis helped define modern practice in modular production. He has designed manufacturing facilities, implemented lean assembly-line systems, integrated automation and robotics, and developed multidisciplinary teams that became industry benchmarks. He approaches modular as a manufacturing business first: plant layout, workforce, material strategy, and quality systems determine whether a building arrives on schedule and on budget.
Lewis brings the perspective of repeated delivery: the same operational questions of plant capacity, production sequencing, quality control, transportation, and site set, answered again and again for different developers, building types, and markets. Combined with his work building and running modular plants, it gives him experience on both sides of the factory door.
At AMT, he applies that operating discipline for clients: designing production systems that scale, keeping labor and material costs predictable, and connecting what the plant builds to what developers and their project teams need delivered on site.
Role in AMT: translate modular strategy into operating reality.
